Château Vartely is a winery that combines the latest innovations with its passion for producing high-quality wines. Our tourist complex welcomes guests to enjoy wine tastings with food pairings and why not, stay overnight Château Vartely is a winery from the Republic of Moldova (an East-European country situated between Romania and Ukraine). It has officially appeared on the market in 1996 and established itself as a national leader in the wine industry. In 2004 Château Vartely brand gained international recognition and since 2008 opened the cellar doors for visitors. The winery is situated in Orhei, 50 kilometers from Chișinau, the capital city of Moldova. The name Vartely originates from the name of the town Orhei that in Hungarian means “place of the fortress”, (vár + hely or fortress + place). The total area of Château Vartely vineland is about 325 hectares, located in the Protected Geographical Indication zones called Codru and Valul lui Traian. The distinctive terroir creates wines with unique character and personality. Arcadie Foșnea one of the most popular oenologists from Moldova ensures that all wines are crafted to the highest level of quality. Wines of Château Vartely are best known by their names Taraboste, Individo, Inspiro, Ice wine, and Tribut.
ABOUT US
The Château Vartely winery is equipped with state-of-the-art winemaking equipment that guarantees the highest quality results during the grapes processing, wine storage and bottling. At the core of winery operation lies the closed technological cycle: from cultivation of own grapes, their processing, production and maturation of wine, to bottling and supply to the market. With a vast of grapes plantation, the winery cultivates various varieties: White grapes: Chardonnay, Muscat, Sauvignon Blanc, Traminer, Feteasca Regala. Red grapes: Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Rara Neagra, Malbek, Feteasca Neagra, Syrah. The state-of-the-art equipment, purchased from the leading German and Italian manufacturers, provides a processing capacity of 4000 tons of grapes per season. The winery therefore houses 2 automated lines for grape processing and 2 bottling lines with a capacity of 1500/3500 bottles per hour. To this extend, the high level of automatization of major winemaking operations ensures the consistency and ongoing quality improvement of crafted wines.

According to the winemaking standards of the Old World and the New World, Château Vartely is a fairly young winery that has managed in a short period of time to become a company emblematic of its country. From the winemaker’s perspective, Château Vartely is a winery that combines the latest innovations in grapes cultivation and processing technology with its passion for producing wines of top quality. The excellence and prominent quality of Château Vartely wines has been recognized through medals and honors awarded at the most prestigious international competitions such as: Mondial de Bruxelles, Mundus Vini, Vinalies Internationales, Decanter, International Wine & Spirits Competition, Sakura, Citta del Vino, International Wine Challenge, and many others.

Its slogan says “Wine with love to you”, because every noble wine produced at Château Vartely has a part of the heart and dedication of those working here.

Wines of Château Vartely, produced from the European and indigenous grape varieties, have placed the company in the top of the consumer preferences. In 2008, in respect for the traditions and local authenticity, Château Vartely opened a tourist complex that through its distinct architecture and charm has become a true picturesque retreat.
